If you're beginning to get stressed out with your wedding / house move / career / or just life in general
then take note of the following article...

I went along to White Cloud to see if an Indian Head Massage could help me out.....

I've always been very open-minded when it comes to alternative therapies, so I was very pleased when Lindsey Rea (M.A.I.B) at White Cloud suggested I try an Indian Head Massage. I find that my neck and shoulders are always the first things to tighten up if I've had a stressful week, not to mention sinus problems with our ever-changing British climate!

Lindsey took me to a room where aromatic scents and soothing eastern music wafted through the air.
I was already beginning to feel relaxed as she placed a towel around me and sat me down.

Indian Head Massage (also known as 'Champissage' - no not Champagne!!) dates back thousands of years and has remarkable healing qualities. Many people have noticed an improvement in circulation, nervous disorders, insomnia, concentration, migraine and depression to name a few.

Using a series of techniques including thumb and finger pressure, friction and soothing effluerage (massage) you begin to relax as your breathing becomes deeper and the body absorbs more oxygen. Lindsey also incorporates 'Reiki' into the massage - a method of natural spiritual healing using 'universal life energy' (or 'chi') where she channels energy into the body to help heal emotional and physical traumas.

Anyone who can get me to sit still for more than five minutes is generally onto a winner, so to have someone massage, prod and tap my head in a most pleasant manner was going to be a bonus! I felt as though all my tension and cares were gradually flowing away as the treatment continued.

Suddenly Lindsey spoke and I felt as though I were waking from a dream. Had it really been half an hour?! The mauve walls of the room came into focus and I realised that I had indeed fallen under some kind of spell for the last thirty minutes.
My neck and shoulders felt loose and relaxed, my mind felt calm and able to focus. I felt as though a weight had been taken off my shoulders. I just about managed to thank Lindsey and drifted out of the door as if on a magic carpet.............VJE.

A treatment at White Cloud lasts between 30-45 minutes and is £25.

For appointments please call Lindsey on 0208 397 3802 or 07810 295327

Please note: White Cloud is based in Chessington, Surrey (UK)
